Judge’s Feedback:

You wouldn’t think a Squirrel in front of a small waterfall stream would look so interesting. In this image the Squirrel is perfectly placed to create a rather sweet touch of humour, as if Harry was emphasising the thirst of the animal.

The delightful thing about this image is not only the placement of the animal and it’s object of desire but how it sits upon the rock patiently, as if waiting for the opportune moment to take advantage of the water. The placement almost guarantees the photo’s story.

The light is soft and works to enhance the colour of the environment. The colours work well together in this light. The light has a blue tint to it, and if Harry chose, he could use the levels feature and simply warm up the image a tad.

A great job, well done Harry.

  1. Than you, “judge”, for your comments. I will adjust the colour as you suggest. You might be interested to know that the “small waterfall stream” is actually Vernal Falls on the Merced River in Yosemite Valley in autumn of the recent drought.

Well done Harry, great shot perfect timing.
Must say it was hard to think out of the square with this topic. Did concider pushing granson off a jetty and snap him landing in the “Drink”, but he’s bigger than me.

Must also say all the realistic shots of drinks makes me hope happy hour comes soon.

    Cheers Derek.

Yes Derek, I did have a Happy Hour or two or three. Of nine contending shots in my pile, four were drinks. Mr Black is a cold pressed coffee liqueur that is wonderful on the rocks. It’s made in Erina NSW Australia. I particularly enjoyed that afternoon. Once poured must be consumed!
