Theme : “Blue”

Zandra has captured this Peacock with beautiful, warm ambient light, whilst keeping in line with this month’s theme of Blue. Morning light is a great time to capture subjects in soft, warm light.
The background fills almost half of the frame yet is out of focus enough not to distract the viewer from the main subject. This allows us to enjoy the narrative of the photo. The Peacock looks proud and regal, and seems to be enjoying the morning light as much as we enjoy looking at it.
The perspective, focal length, exposure and colour work well together to create an interesting and engaging image. Blue and yellow are almost naturally contrasting colours and the interaction of the cool and warm colours can create an interesting image. The contrast in colour helps give the peacock a commanding and even regal presence.
Well done Zandra.
