September 2011: Photo Comp Results

 Winning Photo

Theme :  “Breakfast”

"Birds Breakfast" by Graham Marshall

Camera is a Pentax K100, Lens 18-55. ISO 200. 1/125sec, f6.7

Why Graham won:

We loved the way the subtle light and the dark green background really drew out the depth and tone of the berries. The subdued light adds to the drama of the image but not being too bright, but just enough to capture something special. It looks a little mysterious and fascinating as to what else might be in the woods. Graham has used the berries to form an excellent composition too.

The subject matter is really interesting too. Not only has this photo been shot at a lovely angle, but Graham has managed to keep the subject interesting by providing a unique perspective.

Congratulations Graham, a terrific photo!
