March 2011: Photo Comp Results

Winning Photo

Theme: “My Home Town”

Fitzroy River at dawn

Sony DSLR-A100, Tamron 90mm f8.0 macro lens, F5, 1/4sec, ISO 400, 90mm FL, metering mode: multi-segment

Why Pam Won:

Pam has been able to capture the beautiful light of the river, and, keep everything very well focused and composed. But that’s not the only reason Pam has won. The combination of the colours and the lighting give us a clear indication of what Pam was feeling when the photo was taken.

It seems to us that Pam has a great love for this place. This is reflected in the time of day too. The composition of the clouds really lifts this image, making them the feature of this photo.

This image would also work very well as an enlarged black and white photo.

Well done Pam!
