Theme : Vibrant and Happy
Nikon D7000 , F2, 1/640, ISO 1000, 70mm
Neil has captured the bright and bubbly mood of this child. Not only does the depth of field provide a shallow enough perspective but allows us to engage in the emotion of the child. We instantly look at the eyes and enjoy the genuine happiness of the child.
Apart from the obvious subject being so happy, the light is another reason this image works so well. The light is from a window, and the child is close enough to the light, for the light to be evenly spread across the face. The broad, soft light is what’s used in many professional portrait photos and is a very successful technique for portraiture.
Well done Neil

If you don’t see yours here it’s not because we didn’t like it, it’s simply because of space limitations.
