Theme : “Grasses”
NIKON D80, F16, 1/80, ISO 200, 35mm
Congratulations on a beautiful photo Neil.
In this image Neil has successfully placed all the elements in the areas of the photo in a very visually appealing way. He has successfully created a “Z” shape within the scene, leading our eyes to the foreground that contain marvellous splashes of colour. The colour is not the dominant theme, even though the colour is bold. Neil has successfully create a story about the overwhelming amount of yellow grass, leaving us to imagine if the grass belongs to a local farmer.
The diffused light has assisted in enhancing the colour definition even though the post editing process was applied. It was applied to well.
The post editing process has been done to enhance the saturation of colour without overdoing it. Neil has increased the tonal range very well and brings to life a beautiful country scene with grass as it’s main feature.
Even though the photo was taken at 35mm and taken fairly close at 2 meters, there is absolutely no barrel distortion to speak of. This is due to good management of focal length and knowledge of successful composition techniques.
Neil, you should be proud! Well done and thank you for your delightful photo.
