Judge’s Feedback:

Tom has captured some very interesting light and colour tone. The dark, ominous clouds speak to us of a threat and a strong sense of foreboding. The lighthouse provides a sense of majesty and security. It’s almost as if the lighthouse is the main stable element in the scene.

A wonderful photo that tells the narrative very well. I think if Tom had cropped the very bottom right subject out, it would create a stronger composition. As fa as composition goes, the simpler the better. Simplicity always wins. Nevertheless it’s a wonderful photo with a strong message. The photo works very well from a technical sense.
