Theme : House Interiors
Canon EOS 6D
There is a knack to photographing interiors and it always comes down to lighting. The more evenly spread the soft lighting is the more we can see all the detail in the room. Unless you are going for a spooky theme then even lighting is the aim.
Bob has demonstrated this beautifully. The light is spread very well using only window light. The light coming from the window and onto the furniture was most likely bouncing from a light surface behind the camera. Sometimes, with window light only, a photographer can utilise the light to their advantage. Lighting interiors doesn’t have to use complicated lighting systems, a window, the sun in the right position and a shutter speed to give the sensor enough exposure is all you need.
Bob may choose to lift the shadows a little which would lower the contrast. Or he may warm the room a little with a white balance adjustment in Lightroom or Photoshop. Alternatively, he may leave the image just how it is and enjoy the natural ambience.
Well done Bob!
