Canon PowerShot A2000 IS

Judge’s Feedback:

What a brilliant shot! Bob, I have seen you go from strength to strength with your photography over the last couple of years. I don’t know whether you have just been practicing a lot or reading lots of National Geographic magazines, but this shot is probably the best one I have seen from your submissions.

Even though there are thousands of Penguins, Bob has framed this in such a way where the composition is just spot on. The way that there is more congestion at the back and more space between the birds at the front keeps our eye interested the whole way through out the picture from start to finish. Even though this shot looks like it’s about disorder (and busy), this shot is well structured and very well composed.

And a very busy holiday season…

We are so proud to award Bob the winner for this month!

Brilliant work Bob.

Well Bob you would have to had used that one Hey Mr Bird?
All seriousness though, I agree a great shot. You must have done some travelling.

Once again peoples imagination always surprises me.
I see some potential for Christmas Card designs.

Happy, Safe, Photographic New Year everyone.
    Cheers Derek.

    • Robert Bird says:

Thank you Derek. We are retired and try to get away once or twice a year. Off to Barcelona, Rhone River, Paris and Singapore shortly.

I use my appealing pics in a yearly calendar for family and close friends as a Christmas gift. Some really enjoy it. My daughter in law’s father is an avid photographer with top end gear and also VP of a photography club. Getting a wow from him is something special.
