February 2011: Photo Comp Results

Winning Photo

Theme: “Yellow”

A Hidden World (Sunflower) Large

Sony DSLR-A100, Tamron 90mm f8.0 macro lens, F5, 1/4sec, ISO 400, 90mm FL, metering mode: multi-segment

Why Martie Won:

In all the time that you hear me talk about how beautiful macro photography is, you now know why! Martie has not only been able to get super sharp focus and use beautiful lighting, but this subject is simply inspirational. Martie has given this flower a new dimension up close. We can enjoy the small stamens around the centre of the flower- much more than we could with the naked eye. This photo transports us into a beautiful world. This photo finally not only allows us to enjoy the very best of macro photography, but flower photography as well.

Great work Martie! Well done!

I am in my 70′s and been doing photography for a long time, but only with film. Can a film camera user join your Ezine and subcsribe? I just bought my first digital last week and I’d love to contribute Amy.
