Exciting New Changes

I wanted to let you know of some exciting changes taking place in our business. I know you are going to love the changes a lot. It’s about time these changes were made, because quite honestly they are overdue.

Firstly, I am completely updating ALL our ebooks. In fact I’ve rewritten Digital Photography Success. I have updated it, put new photos in and explained things better. It’s now awaiting the editor’s expert eyes to glance over it.

Next in line is Advanced Digital Photography. I am also rewriting that one, but even better, updating and adding a lot more information. I’m explaining the nitty-gritty, scientific details of light and how it works and why it works the way it does. I am also placing a very big section in it about the artistic side of photography. Not only composition but how the very fine points of art and design principles work in photography and how you can create work like the great masters of photography did, like Ansel Adams. There will be practical exercises in this ebook. I will be putting some “homework” in the ebooks so you can get outside and do some real shooting.

There’s also much more I am revamping. But please, do not worry. I am explaining everything in a very easy-to-understand way.

I’m adding four completely NEW ebooks to the list!

 1. Digital Workflow and Asset Management Ebook: The first one is about your very important workflow and digital asset management. What does that mean? Workflow is about creating a super organise system of planning, shooting and management of your photos.

Digital asset management is about creating the best system for, filing, cataloguing, archiving and retrieving your photos. This ebook excites me just talking about it. It’s the essential guide to managing everything you do from the idea of a shoot to how to store, archive, retrieve, catalogue and process your images quickly and with precision.

This ebook is absolutely crucial to your success as a photographer whether you do it professionally or not. Imagine being able to find one photo you took ten years ago, with the press of a button. Well in this ebook you can do that and I am going to show you how, step by step. We use Bridge to do it, which means you need Photoshop. It’s really super easy when you understand what to “click”, “press” and “download”.

I’m going to show you how I personally manage everything from start to finish. I’ll also talk about backing up, saving, naming and copying files. This ebook might be somewhere around 20-30 pages or so.

2. Portrait Photography Techniques: The second brand spanking new ebook is on portrait photography. In this ebook I’ll be covering lighting for portraits, how to use the flash for portraits, weddings, outdoors, indoors, and other really cheap yet brilliantly effective ways to light someone really well. People will not be able to tell the difference between your photo and a professional photo. I’ll be covering posing, where to place and position your person to make them look more flattering. I’ll be talking about what common problems arise and how to avoid them. This is essential of you want to do weddings, or even create stunning portraits that will last well into the years to come. You can use these principles over your kids, grand kids, bride and groom, and even your cat or dog. I’m not sure on how many pages this will be yet.

3. Practical Exercises In Photography: Next I’ll be writing a practical exercise ebook. This is a series of shooting exercises on specific things that are important to master. For example if you want to create beautiful images then you need to become a master of light. I’ll explain how to do some very nifty techniques with the flash then give you some time to do it yourself. These are great ways to learn how to apply this knowledge yourself in easy and practical ways. It won’t just be on light of course, I’ll show you ways to do something then show you how to set it up and do it yourself. It gives you a brilliant opportunity to refine your skills and start developing your own style. Number of pages? Not sure yet.

4. Night-time Photography Techniques: I have been busting to share some of my knowledge with you on this topic. I’ll be sharing my knowledge on creating night time panoramas, time lapse photography, creating star trails, astro-photography, photographing the city at night, moon photography and camera and camera positioning and handling techniques to get the sharpest, clearest shots. I’ve done lots of photography at night and I can’t wait to give you all this information.

After this has been done, I then start on the video course. Very, very exciting stuff.

Every two or three weeks or so, I’ll give you an update as to where I am at with everything. Just so you know what’s happening. I’ll put updates on Facebook and email too, in case you don’t have Facebook. Lots of work going on at the offices of Digital Photography Success. We will be working tirelessly, sometimes into the wee hours, to bring this new stuff to you. I am super excited about it because I know this will be my very best work to date. I am thrilled to be doing this for you. I want you to have the very best of what I do. I truly appreciate your business very much.

Phew! That’s a lot to take in, I know. I’ll let you know how I go as I progress to keep you in the loop.

My best wishes to you my friend.
